Vyrex spent most of his childhood in schools and libraries rather than playing in the schoolyard. Recess was a time for him to study more in the library. He was a dedicated student to all disciplines, yet his true passion, even at a young age, was the occult. Most of the other townsfolk thought he was a bit strange due to his choice of study, but he kept at it none the less.
At the time of his embrace, WW I was occuring. He, however, had not cared. Knowledge was the true show of power, no matter how much or little land you owned. To think people thought land was a measure of a man or country's worth, how obsurd. This sort of thinking (which he openly spoke) gained him the wrath of a few locals, but also the attention of another. As he left the library late one night, a female who posed as a lovely young student asked to speak to him privately about his papers and research. They went back to his place to speak. He never left the house alive again. He left, just not alive.
Vyrex has spent most of his kindred life doing the same things he did in mortal life, learning. He is almost always around books or a library. Sometimes he is left to his own desires, studying and researching whatever he wishes. Sometimes, though, the Clan will order him to research something in particular or dispatch him to investigate odd occurrences. He always reports his findings back to the Clan and does exactly what he is told. It is also not odd to find him being sent into another city to act as a fly on the wall, so to speak, even when he says he is there to study or aid in some problem or solution. He does what his master's tell him, but usually has a few of his own motives in the process.

![]() Karlhuss
Karlhuss was born in Austria near the start of the 20th century. His childhood was marred during his first decade by poor health though by the time he had reached the age of thirteen he was physically no less capable than other boys of his age. Perhaps because of his early sicknesses, physical activity has never been one of his interests.
From the start he found himself naturally gifted when it came to mathematics and other academic pursuits. Because he was born to a poor family he was not given the opportunity to get an education deserving of his ability so this held back his development when he was clearly an exceptionally gifted individual.
He began work in the newly opened BMW factory in Austria and he began devoting himself to the design and ongoing development of the early automobile. He found his development hampered however by employees coming from a better social and educational standard than he. This instilled him with bitterness, as most of his social betters were vastly inferior when it came down to their technical ability.
His disappearance several years later was pursued by local newspapers for a short time before everybody forgot the wasted potential that was Karlhuss.
Almost twenty years to the day later, he emerged from the Vienna Tremere chantry. The effect that twenty years had on him was tremendous. He had opened his potential to the power of thaumaturgy, the natural ease with which he mastered thaumaturgical concepts frightening his elders. The ability had always been dormant in him, but becoming Tremere gave him the will and purpose.
His early roles involved scouting industry and other professional fields for other potential recruits - much like the way in which he had been selected himself. As the years moved on it was deemed that he was ready for a more active front line role and he was sent to America to reinforce a battle damaged chantry. His early success in this operation against an overwhelming Garou foe led him to become known among the other clans as one to be watched.
Karlhuss has since moved city often in response to the needs of his clan. The clans superior position in Detroit is not normally the sort of role that he is sent in to, but the elders plan that with the combined Tremere forces in the area a lasting clan dominance can be established over the industrial giant.
